FTC Consumer Health Benefits Association Refunds
The FTC is sending a second round of 27,256 checks totaling over $1.8 million to people who paid Consumer Health Benefits Association for medical discount plans the FTC says were sold as health insurance. You may be eligible if you cashed the first check, sent in November 2023 as part of more than $4.8 million in earlier refunds, and paid CHBA more than $249. Payments are automatic, and a check should be cashed within 90 days. The FTC's page does not state a date range for affected purchases, so call the refund administrator at 1-888-350-1458 to check. The FTC will not ask you to pay money to receive a refund.
There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.
