The promise — Your data
We do not sell you.
Most free settlement sites are free because the claimant is the product. Read their privacy policies and you will often find they share your details with law firms and lead buyers, and sell or share data for advertising. That is the business model. It is not ours.
We never sell or share your personal information
Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not for cross-context behavioral advertising under any of the broad definitions state privacy laws use. There is no 'do not sell my information' link on this site because there is nothing to opt out of.
We never hand you to law firms or lead buyers
No intake center receives your name. Nobody calls you about joining a lawsuit because you answered questions here. We are not paid per signed claimant, which is exactly why we can say this.
No cookies, no ad trackers
This site sets no cookies at all — there is no login and no session to keep. No analytics script runs in your browser either; our host counts page requests from its own server logs. Your saved quiz progress and the claims you mark as filed stay in your own browser's storage; quiz answers are sent only to be scored, and are discarded in the same request.
We never ask for the dangerous things
No Social Security number, government ID, bank account, card number, or date of birth. A match list does not need them, so we do not collect them, so they cannot leak from here.
There is almost nothing of yours to delete
We hold no account and no saved quiz answers, so for almost everyone there is no record of you here to request, correct, or erase. The exceptions are a message you choose to send through the contact form, kept until the matter is closed, and a notice tip-off, kept as an issue in our private GitHub repository as the record of what we checked. You can ask for either to be deleted.
No attorney advertising, no affiliate links
No lawyer or law firm pays to appear here, and nothing on this site is attorney advertising. Links go to official administrator and government pages, and we earn nothing when you click, file, or search. There are no sponsored placements and no paid rankings.
The test
Check any site yourself — including this one
Open the privacy policy of any free settlement site and search the page for these words. They are the tell:
- “sell”
- “share”
- “marketing partners”
- “law firms”
- “attorney-client relationship”
- “cross-context behavioral advertising”
- “prior express written consent”
A free site whose policy discloses sharing your information with attorneys, or selling it for advertising, is funded by you. That is legal and it is disclosed — but you should know it is the deal you are accepting before you type your name in.
Run the test on this site too. Our privacy policy is one page of plain language, and none of those phrases appear in it.
Then how is this paid for?
So how does this stay running? At launch it simply does not cost much: the records are public, the site is static, and there is nobody to bill because there is nothing to sell you. A paid iOS app with deadline alerts is the plan for later. If that ever changes, it changes here first — in plain language, before anything changes in the code.
