FTC Care.com Refunds

The FTC is sending 194,207 payments totaling more than $8.1 million to job seekers and job posters who paid the gig platform Care.com. The FTC alleged the company misled workers about how many jobs were available and how much they could earn, and made subscriptions hard to cancel. Payments are automatic: cash a check within 90 days, or accept a PayPal payment within 30. The FTC's page does not state a date range for affected members, so call the administrator, Epiq, at 1-888-867-6151 to check. The FTC will not ask you to pay money to receive a refund.

There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.
