Stevens Community Medical Center refund and medical debt reduction program
Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, Minnesota agreed in August 2026 to refund or write off up to $1,412,776.25 for uninsured patients it charged more than its own discount agreement and Minnesota law allowed. Nearly 3,500 patients treated between April 1, 2020 and December 31, 2025 whose household income was under $125,000 at the time may be eligible. There is nothing to file: the hospital says it will notify 3,478 patients directly and apply a refund or a reduction in what they still owe once household income is verified, and the announcement names no deadline. What each person gets is the discount that should have come off their own bill, so amounts differ and none is guaranteed. The process costs nothing, and anyone who was a patient and has not heard from the hospital can contact the Attorney General's Office on (651) 296-3353 or (800) 657-3787.
There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.

Expected
The announcement says the hospital will notify 3,478 patients and then apply a refund or a reduction in what they owe once household income is verified. It names no distribution date and no closing date.
Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.
