Omega Dental Care refund program (Minnesota Attorney General)

Omega Dental Care, a Minnesota clinic, took payment for dental work it did not provide and then closed. A settlement the Attorney General announced on July 9, 2026 lets former patients be refunded out of the state's Consumer Protection Restitution Account, and on September 3, 2026 the office reported its first 8 checks, totalling $38,634, with more claims still under review. Patients who paid out of pocket for treatment that was never performed may be eligible; the office is tracing patients itself, and anyone it has not reached can call (651) 296-3353 in the Twin Cities or (800) 657-3787 elsewhere in Minnesota. No closing date is published, and claiming through the Attorney General costs nothing.

Settlements pay in batches, often in tiers, and a distribution can run for months between the first payment and the last. A start date means the administrator has begun paying valid claims — it does not mean any particular claim has been paid, and it is not a sign that a payment is on its way to any particular person.

If you filed and nothing has arrived, the administrator is the only one who can tell you where your claim stands. We hold no claim records and cannot look one up.

Expected

The Attorney General's Office says it continues to review claims and is still identifying patients it can contact; it names no closing date and no schedule for later rounds.

Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.

Average payment — our estimate

$4,829

This is our own arithmetic from the figures on the official page, not a number the administrator published.

Our estimate: the $38,634 the office reported refunding in its first round, divided by the 8 checks it had issued — about $4,829. No average has been published, and because each refund is one patient's own out-of-pocket payment the spread is wide.

An average is not a forecast of any individual payment. Plans that pay pro rata, in tiers, or against documented losses produce amounts that vary enormously around it — many land well below the average, and some claims are paid nothing.

Covered products and services

  • Dental treatment paid for in advance at Omega Dental Care

Refunds come from Minnesota's Consumer Protection Restitution Account under a settlement announced on July 9, 2026. The first round, reported on September 3, 2026, was 8 checks totalling $38,634, and the office says it is still reviewing claims. A refund is what the patient can show they paid for treatment that was never provided, so there is no per-person figure and nothing is guaranteed.

Eligibility questions

These questions help you decide whether to read the official notice. They are not a legal determination.

Did you pay Omega Dental Care for dental treatment that was never provided?
Did you pay for that treatment yourself rather than through insurance?

The program refunds what patients paid out of pocket.

Do you still have a receipt or statement showing what you paid the clinic?
