John Deere repair services antitrust settlement

If you paid John Deere or a Deere-authorized dealer for repair services on large agricultural equipment in the United States between January 10, 2018 and May 18, 2026, you may be eligible for a payment. The settlement puts $99 million in cash, plus interest since January 15, 2026, into a fund that is split pro rata according to the labor hours dealers spent on each claimant's equipment, so amounts are estimates rather than a set figure. Most class members are being sent a Notice ID and confirmation code by mail or email, and Deere's own records then supply the hours; without one you can still claim by providing your own repair records. Claims close December 31, 2026, and filing on the official settlement site is free.

Expected

The notice says it is not known how much each claimant will receive or when. Nothing is paid until the court rules at the January 19, 2027 hearing, any appeals are resolved and claims processing finishes.

Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.

In re Deere & Company Repair Services Antitrust Litigation · 3:22-cv-50188 (MDL No. 3030) · U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, Western Division

Payments are pro rata: each claimant's share is set by the labor hours Deere-authorized dealers spent on their qualifying equipment during the class period, so there is no fixed per-person amount and any figure is an estimate. Repairs done under a Deere factory warranty are excluded; repairs under an extended warranty you bought do count. Attorneys' fees of up to $45 million, litigation costs of up to $6 million and $25,000 service awards for each of the seven named plaintiffs come out of the fund before anything is distributed.

Where the settlement fund goes

Deere is paying $99 million in cash, plus interest accruing since January 15, 2026, into a settlement fund. The notice also describes injunctive relief requiring Deere to make repair tools and diagnostic software available to farmers and independent repair providers, which plaintiffs' expert estimates at between $293.9 million and $648 million, for a total estimated settlement value of $392.9 million to $747 million. Only the $99 million cash fund is distributed to claimants; the injunctive relief applies to the whole class whether or not anyone files.

Eligibility questions

These questions help you decide whether to read the official notice. They are not a legal determination.

Did you pay John Deere or a Deere-authorized dealer for repair services on large agricultural equipment between January 10, 2018 and May 18, 2026?

Repairs done under a Deere factory warranty do not count. Repairs covered by an extended warranty you bought do.

Was the equipment a Deere 6000, 7000, 8000 or 9000 Series tractor, a combine, cotton picker, cotton stripper, sugarcane harvester, planter, or tillage or application equipment?
Did you receive a notice carrying a Notice ID and confirmation code for this settlement?

With one, Deere's records supply your labor hours. Without one, you will need your own repair records.

Are you a governmental entity, or an officer, director or employee of Deere & Company?
