Thinkware dashcam night vision settlement

An $850,000 settlement covers people in the United States who bought a Thinkware X700, F200PRO, DC-M2-FG-IR, DC-M2-FG or F70PRO dashcam between January 25, 2019 and August 31, 2024. The lawsuit alleged the cameras were advertised with a "Super Night Vision" function without disclosing that it only worked in parking mode. If you bought one of those models in that window you may be eligible; valid claims share the fund pro rata, so there is no set amount per person and the payment falls as more people claim. Claims close December 14, 2026 and filing on the official settlement site is free.

When the money moves

What the official materials say about the payment schedule for this settlement, and what the administrator has published since. Every figure below is linked to the page it was read from.

Expected

The court is scheduled to consider final approval on January 12, 2027. The notice says valid claims are paid after approval, so the timing depends on that hearing and on any appeal.

Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.

Jessica Ratzak v. Thinkware Systems USA, Inc. · S-CV-0049793 · Superior Court of California, County of Placer

The fund is $850,000 and there is no fixed per-person figure: valid claims share what is left after fees, costs and administration, so the payment depends on how many people claim and which models they bought. The claim form asks where and when you bought the dashcam, with receipts or other documented proof of purchase if you still have them. Money nobody claims goes to a charity rather than back to the company.
