Capital One Arena venue fee settlement

Aramark settled a claim that it added an undisclosed venue fee at checkout to concession prices at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. If you bought something from Aramark at the arena between October 1, 2024 and December 31, 2025 and paid a venue fee, you may be eligible to claim a share of a $4,500,000 fund by December 4, 2026. Payments are pro rata, so each share depends on how many people file and no amount is guaranteed. Filing on the official site is free, and the court hears final approval on January 15, 2027.

Expected

The court is due to consider final approval on January 15, 2027. The site says claims are paid after that, and no payment date is published.

Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.

Alexander Garner v. Aramark Management Services LP · 2025-CAB-007444 · Superior Court of the District of Columbia, Civil Division

Each valid claim takes a pro rata share of what is left of a $4,500,000 non-reversionary fund, so the amount per person falls as more people file. Class counsel asks for up to a third of the fund plus out-of-pocket expenses, and up to $5,000 for the class representative. The FAQ does not say what the claim form asks for, and the claim portal would not open to an automated request, so whether any receipt is needed could not be checked. Amounts are estimates, not guarantees.

Eligibility questions

These questions help you decide whether to read the official notice. They are not a legal determination.

Did you buy anything from Aramark at Capital One Arena between October 1, 2024 and December 31, 2025?

Concession and food-service purchases inside the arena are what the class covers.

Was a venue fee added to the price when you paid?

The claim is about a percentage fee added at checkout rather than shown on the menu.

Did you ask to be excluded from this settlement?
