ZK Technology biometric timeclock settlement

ZK Technology, the company behind the timekeeping system used by Alliance Ground International, has agreed to a $635,160 settlement of Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act claims. If you were an AGI employee in Illinois who scanned a finger or a face on that timekeeping system between September 2020 and August 12, 2026 without consenting to share the scan with ZK Technology, you may be eligible. The settlement FAQ estimates $800 to $2,000 per valid claim, capped at $2,000, with what remains of the fund split equally among everyone who files. Claims close November 10, 2026, the court considers final approval on November 23, 2026, and filing on the official settlement site is free.

When the money moves

What the official materials say about the payment schedule for this settlement, and what the administrator has published since. Every figure below is linked to the page it was read from.

Expected

The notice sets the final approval hearing for November 23, 2026 at 9:30 a.m.; payments follow approval and any appeals, and the official pages give no distribution date.

Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.

Roman v. ZK Technology LLC · 2022-CH-06727 · Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois

The FAQ estimates $800 to $2,000 per valid claim and caps any one payment at $2,000. What is left of the $635,160 fund after class counsel's request of up to 38 percent, costs, administration and a service award of up to $5,000 is split equally among valid claims, so the figure moves with how many people file. The online claim form opens with the LoginID and PIN from the mailed notice; the administrator will reissue them to a class member who emails a name and mailing address, and a printable form can be mailed instead. Amounts are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Eligibility questions

These questions help you decide whether to read the official notice. They are not a legal determination.

Did you work for Alliance Ground International in Illinois between September 2020 and August 2026?
Did you clock in or out there by scanning your finger or your face?
Were you asked to sign a written consent to share your fingerprint or face scan with an outside company?

The claim is about scans taken without that written consent.
