FTC Ygrene Settlement
The FTC is sending 960 checks totaling more than $2.9 million to eligible customers of Ygrene Energy Fund, which sold home improvement financing including PACE financing through door-to-door contractors. The FTC and the State of California alleged that some contractors forged homeowners' signatures on Ygrene finance agreements; the settlement did not remove Ygrene's liens, which remain outstanding until paid. Payments are automatic and a check should be cashed within 90 days. The FTC's page does not state a date range for affected homeowners, so call the administrator, Analytics Consulting, at 1-877-412-1816 to check. The FTC will not ask you to pay money to receive a refund.
There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.
