FTC Opendoor Refunds
The FTC is sending nearly $62 million to 54,689 homeowners across the country who sold a home to Opendoor before the settlement order was announced on August 1, 2022, after the agency alleged the company paid less than market value and charged more than it promised. Payments come as checks, and a check should be cashed within 90 days. The FTC's page does not give a start date for the eligible sales, so call the refund administrator on 1-888-546-2054 to check whether you may be eligible. The FTC will not ask you to pay money to receive a refund.
There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.
