Domino's San Francisco health care fee settlement

ASI Foods, which runs four Domino's Pizza stores in San Francisco, settled claims over a six percent charge it collected under the San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance. If you are a California resident who bought from the Noriega Street, Bayshore Boulevard, Geary Boulevard or Geary Street locations between December 4, 2023 and August 12, 2026 and paid that fee, you may be eligible. The settlement returns 75% of the fee as a voucher or 50% as cash, worked out from the stores' own records, so the amount tracks what you spent rather than being a set figure. Claims close November 8, 2026, and filing on the official site is free.

Expected

The settlement site names a final fairness hearing on December 18, 2026 and does not give a payment date; distribution would follow approval and the end of any appeal.

Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.

Hayden Miller, et al. v. ASI Foods, Inc., et al. · CGC-25-630503 · Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco

Two options: a voucher worth 75% of the 6% San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance charge you paid, or cash worth 50% of it. Amounts are calculated from the restaurants' own purchase records, so what any one person gets depends on what they spent and is not a fixed figure. Class members the stores hold no valid email address for have to send proof of purchase to the claims administrator instead. The four covered locations are on Noriega Street, Bayshore Boulevard, Geary Boulevard and Geary Street. Filing on the official site is free.

Why this case happened

The suit alleged that four San Francisco Domino's Pizza stores run by ASI Foods added a six percent charge described in a way that suggested a tax, when it was the franchisee's own surcharge tied to the San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance. ASI Foods denies wrongdoing and no court decided the claims.

Eligibility questions

These questions help you decide whether to read the official notice. They are not a legal determination.

Did you buy from a Domino's Pizza on Noriega Street, Bayshore Boulevard, Geary Boulevard or Geary Street in San Francisco between December 4, 2023 and August 12, 2026?
Was a six percent San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance charge added to that purchase?

It appears as a separate line on the receipt, often next to the tax.

Are you a California resident?
