Monster Loans advance-fee CFPB redress

The CFPB's case covered Monster Loans, which it says obtained credit-report data on millions of student-loan borrowers under a false pretext, and five debt-relief companies that then charged those borrowers illegal upfront fees. Checks to more than 23,000 people began in December 2022 and the CFPB lists the distribution as ongoing. If you paid an advance fee to Docu Prep Center, Certified Doc Prep Services, Assure Direct Services, Direct Document Solutions or Secure Preparation Services, you may be eligible, and no claim form exists to file. Amounts are estimates set by the administrator, and reaching it costs nothing.

There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.
