JPay release-card fee CFPB redress
JPay issued prepaid debit cards to people leaving prison or jail and, according to the CFPB, charged fees to access money that was already theirs, including the state release funds meant to cover essentials afterward. The Bureau's order required JPay to fund redress, and distribution has been running since December 2022. If you were given a JPay release card and charged fees on it, you may be eligible; the administrator pays from identified records rather than from claim forms. Payment sizes are estimates, and the administrator never charges to look up or send a payment.
There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.

CFPB v. JPay, LLC
The CFPB's consent order required JPay to fund redress for people charged these fees. The administrator sets each payment from the fee records in the case, so amounts are estimates and not guaranteed. There is no claim form and no charge for contacting the administrator.
