Bright Lending loan settlement

Bright Lending has settled a Northern District of Illinois class action over the interest it charged on its loans, with a $15,000,000 fund. If you took out a Bright Lending loan between October 1, 2020 and June 4, 2026 and paid it back in full, you may be eligible for a cash payment sized by the interest you paid, with a $15 minimum; if you took one out between October 1, 2020 and December 31, 2024 and did not pay it off, the outstanding balance may be cancelled instead. Nevada and Utah residents are excluded, and both classes also get credit-reporting deletion requests. There is no claim form and nothing to pay anyone — the administrator works from its own loan records for class members who do not opt out by December 21, 2026. The fairness hearing is January 19, 2027, amounts are estimates, and only the administrator decides who is paid.

There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.

Expected

The notice gives no distribution date. The fairness hearing is set for January 19, 2027 by telephone, and payment and debt cancellation follow court approval and the resolution of any appeals.

Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.
