FastBucks New Mexico loan restitution

The New Mexico Department of Justice is handing out roughly $964,000 recovered from FastBucks to New Mexicans who borrowed from it between 2007 and 2016, under a court judgment that found its lending practices unlawful. If you took out a FastBucks loan in that period you may be eligible; claims close on November 24, 2026 and the administrator says payments are expected to begin in April 2027. A Claim ID Number from the mailed notice makes filing quicker but is not required — without one you supply your loan details so the administrator can check you were a borrower. Filing on the official restitution site is free.

Expected

The restitution site says payments are expected to begin in April 2027, once claims have been reviewed.

Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.

State of New Mexico v. FastBucks Holding Corporation, et al. · D-101-CV-2009-01917 · First Judicial District Court, Santa Fe County, New Mexico

About $964,000 in gross recovered funds is being shared out, less the cost of administering the program, so what each borrower receives depends on how many valid claims arrive. No per-borrower figure has been published. Treat any amount as an estimate rather than a promise. Filing costs nothing.
