Jack's Family Restaurants data breach settlement
Jack's Family Restaurants settled claims that it failed to protect employee records against a cyberattack running from about July 24 to August 10, 2025, which court filings say reached names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers and bank account details. The class is people whose information was involved, including everyone Jack's sent a notice to, so if you received one you may be eligible. A claim can pay documented losses up to $4,000 with receipts and $20 an hour for up to four hours of lost time, or instead a flat $55 with no documents; three years of credit monitoring and identity theft protection can be added either way. Nothing is paid unless the court grants final approval, so treat the amounts as estimates. The online claim form opens only with the LoginID and PIN from the notice. Claims close November 30, 2026, and filing on the official site is free.

Expected
The FAQ says benefits are distributed if the court grants final approval, set for a hearing on December 15, 2026, and after any appeals are resolved.
Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.

Documented out-of-pocket losses are reimbursed up to $4,000 and need third-party receipts. Lost time pays $20 an hour for up to four hours, and can be claimed with or instead of documented losses. A flat $55 is the alternative to both, not an addition. Three years of credit monitoring with $1 million of identity theft insurance is available either way. Nothing is paid unless the court grants final approval. The online form needs the LoginID and PIN from the notice and the paper form asks for the Notice ID; the claim page says to email the administrator if you cannot find them. Filing is free.

Why this case happened
