People Data Labs Colorado phone directory settlement

People Data Labs has agreed to a $6,362,167.00 settlement of Cochrane v. People Data Labs, Inc. in the Northern District of California, which alleged the data broker listed Colorado residents' cell phone numbers in a directory without consent, contrary to Colorado's Prevention of Telemarketing Fraud Act. The class covers numbers with a Colorado area code and an inferred Colorado location that were sourced on or after September 2022 and disclosed at least once between September 1, 2022 and March 3, 2026; notices went out on July 31, 2026, so if one reached you, you may be eligible. What is left of the fund after fees and costs is split equally among valid claimants, which means the per-person figure depends on how many people file and is not fixed. Claims, objections and exclusions all close September 29, 2026, the form asks for the Login ID and PIN printed on your notice, and filing on the official site is free.
