International Shoppes data incident settlement

International Shoppes and Diplomatic Duty Free Shops of New York, which run duty-free stores at New York airports, have settled a class action over a data incident the notice says the companies discovered in December 2023. The class is US residents whose personal information was compromised, including everyone sent notice, so you may be eligible if that letter reached you. A claim can be an alternative cash payment the notice estimates at about $50, or up to $4,000 in documented out-of-pocket losses against a $500,000 cap, plus two years of credit monitoring. Claims close November 11, 2026, and filing on the official site is free.

Expected

The notice says payments are distributed only if the court grants final approval at the November 16, 2026 hearing and after any appeals are resolved.

Read off the official notice, in its own words. These dates slip — an appeal can move a distribution by a year or more — so treat it as the administrator's plan rather than a schedule.

The notice puts the alternative cash payment at around $50 and says it may come out smaller depending on how many claims are filed. Instead of it, a claim can cover up to $4,000 in documented out-of-pocket losses dated between November 16, 2023 and November 11, 2026, drawn against a $500,000 aggregate cap. Two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete monitoring is offered as well. The online form asks for the Login ID and PIN from the mailed notice, and a printable form can be mailed instead.

Eligibility questions

These questions help you decide whether to read the official notice. They are not a legal determination.

Were you sent notice that your personal information was compromised in the International Shoppes data incident?

Do you have receipts or statements for money you spent because of that incident?

Receipts lead to the $4,000 option; the alternative cash payment needs none.
