FTC Rando Refunds
The FTC is sending 9,224 payments totaling more than $3.5 million to people who paid Michael and Valerie Rando for credit repair services offered under names including The Credit Game and Credit University. The FTC alleged the operation falsely promised to raise credit scores through "credit piggybacking," charged illegal upfront fees, and pitched a bogus business opportunity. Payments are automatic: cash a check within 90 days, or accept a PayPal payment within 30. The FTC's page does not state a date range for affected customers, so call the refund administrator at 1-833-296-0723 to check. The FTC will not ask you to pay money to receive a refund.
There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.
