FTC American Vehicle Protection Refunds

The FTC is sending 9,074 checks totaling more than $186,000 to people who bought extended auto warranties from the telemarketer American Vehicle Protection and accepted an earlier refund, following more than $223,000 paid in October 2024. The FTC said the company made illegal sales calls, posed as car dealers and manufacturers, and misrepresented its bumper-to-bumper warranties. Checks are mailed automatically with no claim form described and should be cashed within 90 days; the FTC's page does not state a date range for qualifying purchases, so call the refund administrator on 1-833-889-7400 to check whether you may be eligible. The FTC will not ask you to pay money to receive a refund.

There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.
