FTC American Financial Benefits Center Refunds
The FTC and DOJ finished this distribution in August 2023, sending more than $9 million to 22,562 people who lost money to the Ameritech Financial student-loan debt-relief scheme, which also traded as American Financial Benefits Center, AFB, AF Student Services and Financial Education Benefits Center. Most were paid by check, with PayPal used where no address was on file, and the claim window has closed — there is nothing left to file. The FTC has since removed the refunds page for this case. The FTC will not ask you to pay money to receive a refund.
There is no claim form for this one. The administrator pays consumers it has already identified, so the useful step is to make sure they can reach you — not to file anything. Anyone offering to file it for you, for a fee, is selling you nothing.
